Mission
Empowering people with disabilities to belong fully, live freely, and choose boldly.
At Spa Area Independent Living Services (SAILS), we support people with disabilities in creating lives rooted in dignity, choice, and connection.
At SAILS, we believe independence looks different for everyone. As a Center for Independent Living, we support individuals as they navigate barriers, build skills, and create lives that feel meaningful and self-directed. Whether someone is seeking housing, learning new skills, building community, or simply needing a place to start—we're here.
Essentially, it is living just like everyone else—having opportunities to make decisions that affect one's life, able to pursue activities of one's own choosing—limited only in the same way that one's non-disabled neighbors are limited.
Independent Living means being as self-sufficient as possible. It means taking risks and being allowed to succeed and fail on your own terms. Independent Living means being able to exercise the greatest degree of choice about where you live, with whom you live, how you live, where you work, and how you use your time.
We recognize that independence isn't just about services, it's about the whole person. We support practical needs like daily living skills, while also creating space for connection, wellness, and personal growth.
Spa Area Independent Living Services (SAILS) is a Center for Independent Living rooted in the belief that all people deserve the opportunity to live independently with dignity, choice, and full participation in their communities.
We serve individuals with disabilities across these counties:
Empowering people with disabilities to belong fully, live freely, and choose boldly.
A community where all people have equal access, opportunity, and the freedom to live the life they choose.
We are peer-based, person-centered, and community-focused. We meet people where they are and support them as they build the life they want.
If you or someone you know needs support, reach out today. You don't have to have it all figured out—just start where you are, we'll meet you there.
